what all is involved in replacing it? i have a circuit malfunction reading for this sensor and a diagram, so i know where it is.
is there anything that i need to be aware of that might pose a problem?

if i'm not mistaken, there is a special Ford calibartion/install tool needed when doing this on the atx

I remember when I had my Lentech put in, the trans range sensor was off and it was causing extremely earyl 1-2 shifts and the car wasn't able to move out of it's own way.

it being off threw a code within 10 miles of the first drive

Once I had it calibrated everything was fine again

it wont go into 1st unless i leave the selector in 1st for about 5-10 sec. if i dont do that it will start in 2nd every time. i can also put it in "N" and it will drive down the road like it was in gear. if there is a special tool needed, then where can i get it(or rent it)?

i talked to the guys at the ford place and they said that i wouldnt need a special tool just to make sure that the tranny is in "N" when i install it so i'm kinda hoping i can get it within the next two weeks and have it running right again.....hopefully:rolleyes:

You don't really need the alignment tool; just mark the sensor before you remove it.
