Good Evening everyone
I live in New Jersey and this was my month and year to have my car
inspected. I own a 2006 Ford Focus. Had it since 06. Inspection is
automatic, drive in hook up for emission test...... see you in 2 yrs.
Well this year was alittle different. pulled in gave the guy my IDs,
exited the car and waited in the booth. Waiting took longer.....
looked down the aisle and the guy has the hood up poking around.
Closes the hood goes inside comes back out reopens hood looks
some more closes hood. Brings car down aisle with this big stack
of papers saying that I had failed today because my focus should
have 2 catalytic converters. I haven't failed inspection since I've
owned the car. How many CC should I have? I have never had a
problem before.......
thanks for your help.

I believe it should have a pre-cat in the exhaust manifold, and a main cat in the pipe under the car.
Have you, or a previous owner installed a header? That's possibly the reason your pre-cat may be missing.
