Bare with me I'm going to copy some posts from my other place I visit..

Picked up this '85 from Don Battle in Hubbard Tx. For $100, worth its weight in parts, but was a candidate for the transplant. Will have enough left over parts from the other car(RED '87 in Pa) to get this one back on the road, undecided as when that will happen. Car hasn't been registered since '96, front turn signal had a family nest of 30-40 wasps. Trashed but body straight, Don robbed the engine and trans, no loss there.

Cut core support to easily rob engine, he didn't plan on filing for lost title, has some regrets!

Loaded up for 1.5hrs trip home last wk end.

Vacation trip(end of April) to Hershey, Pa. This one cost me some dinero...2600 mile round trip, using a Ford F250 Super Duty. Gave up on the idea of paying to haul, to much of the car will be in boxes or tossed in car/truck. So I'm taking a week to make the trip(by myself), stop off in Huntsville Al to visit my older brother and my sister is 1hr off Interstate 81 in West Virginia.

Now for pics of this RED beauty... Price $2500+gas, food and lodging

Paint work in these pics is 3yrs old, new windshield after....project forgotten but not dead yet...

New front Glass :headbang

Picture this with my RED top Cosworth YB

Cosworth Grill and oem arches w/jacking covers 8)

Extra engine, trans, hood, doors, hatch from a '88

Not pictured are new Sachs, Sierra Headlamps, Cosworth sway bars f/r :cheers , urethane bushing for car, grey leather interior, new windshield installed after paint...
Forgot to mention, get Cosworth rear quarter glass and interior pieces with the deal! :D

....some assembly required...to say the least. I think the paint along is worth the $2.5k

The only down side.....its Arrest Me RED

I used two car covers from Huntsville, Al to Texas to better protect the paint. The trip from Pa to Al only hade one and the wind buffing caused some paint damage, but its going to be covered by the lower door cladding.

No cover from Hershey Pa to my sisters cabin/home in West Virgina, 3.5hr drive after a 6hr loading.

Then from her house to my brothers in Alabama, 10hrs

Then threw on another cover to protect the first from buffing..11hrs to home

Filled the car as much as possible, then the truck, stuff that wouldn't or couldn't fit in the car, extra from his parts car

after a point I started a garbage pile of stuff leaving behind, look to the right of garage...seats, headliners, radiators, the worst of the 2 cars, oem fender, and door sills, bumpers(one that I needed for parts..dummie). I needed another truck.

Also left behind the extra hood, doors, hatch

Red Koni struts+F&R lowering springs from the '88 parts car, Cosworth front sway bar

Lots of bits in the boxes, 2 sets of nice/not cracked or bulging tail lights, takes my total set count to 6sets, 4 used, 1new from Argintina, 1 1/5 new Ford sets from England/Germany

Went and bolted on my 18" Comps to see how they'd look, will do same with white 17" Comps later after the Sapphire suspension set up on the old car goes on.

Notice the car has Sierra sills and fenders, no XR cladding bump...

Popped in the headlights that came with it, nice Cibie set, RHD but I've got several LHD sets

Part of the 6hr to load was deciding what to take, how to take it, install sunroof, door glass, wing, the front bumper(parts for red one), lower sound dampening, carper, consoles, seats, RS arches and the painted bumpers had to be protected from all other items.
This is what I started with..

Also left behind a fairly nice Borla exhaust...look just behind the trailer...wanted to take it but after 6hrs I was thinking with a short fuse..so sue me...

A friend asked me if I was planning of installing the quarter glass?

Mike..that's my thoughts exactly, don't wish to alter such a beautiful paint job. His friend, who owned the body shop went out of his was way, must be nice to have such friends. I think the paint job alone is worth the $2500, the rest is just a bonus. I had thoughts on installing them in the silver car, but its not the one getting the YB. I bought the Little Red Devil for the transplant of all I have good stuff installed on the Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Be close to this if I did....

Been talking to Compomotive in England about buying a new set like those in 8x17 et35 for £760shipped

Test mounted the Cossie arches, will have to come back off for wet sanding and buff.

Please don't flame me for it being so high, once I transfer from '89 it will come way down.

Woooo..no ricer here, pure southern boy/man/oldfart, hell my first cars had shackles to raise them for big...fat...tires. No its low for center of gravity but not so low I have to slow down for dips or train tracks....never ever hit a bump stop!! Sort of like my old one here..

All you need now Glenn, is a mk 1 Escort.

Then you'll have the full set of RS cars.

Apart from the various other RS cars that are collectures items.
