It was a bit tight coming off of engine but easy to remove without moving engine.
Now it doesn’t easily slide onto bracket to install front bolt. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi,
have you tried to spray some lubricant onto the bracket?
I had the same situation in the past with a 2000 Zx3 and after trying to slide the alternator for 2 hours my uncle suggested it and voila! it worked for me. Good luck!

I tried lube to no avail. A mechanic recommended lightly filing alternator mating surfaces. Very little did the trick!

I had to take a little material off of mine to get it to fit also.

Most new alternators come with the bushings in the ears too tight. I use a c-clamp to press them back into the alternator, then it will slide right on the brackets. When you put the alternator mounting bolts back on, they will pull the whole thing tight again. Unfortunately, I've replaced the alternator on mine twice.
